Select this mode if your main speakers have a high ability for bass reproduction.

Select this mode if your main speakers do not have a high ability for bass
reproduction.

Select this mode if your center speaker has a high ability for bass reproduction.

Select this mode if you use a center speaker that is smaller than the main speakers.

Select this mode if you do not have a center speaker.

Select this mode if your surround speakers have a high ability for bass reproduction.

Select this mode if your surround speakers do not have a high ability for bass
reproduction.

Select this mode if you do not have surround speakers.

Select this mode if your system includes a subwoofer.

Select this mode if your system does not include a subwoofer.

Factory default setting

1 Main Speaker: Large
2 Center Speaker: Small
3 Surround Speaker: Small
4 Subwoofer: Yes

Notes

The settings on this item are only applicable when playing
back a DVD encoded with Dolby Digital.

The settings on this item are only effective when the “PCM”
mode is selected for “Dolby Digital” of the item “1 Digital
Output” on pages 59 and 60.
