5.4. Step by Step Instructions for Performing Manual Tests
1. From the Start Menu, select Manual Tests. Choose Data, Phone
or 2-wire cable type.
Warning! Manual Test Results will NOT be saved.
2. Using the appropriate cable assembly and jacks, connect
the Validator-NT main unit to the cable identified in the Test
Schedule with the Remote Unit connected to the opposite end.
Cable Test
1. Select Cable Test to initiate a test sequence. The wiremap,
length, SNR, and Skew results will display. (Figure 5.5)
2. The up and down arrow keys adjust the length constant by .1
pF increments if the cable requires a different setting than that
displayed at the top of the screen.
3. On the DATA test screen, the Length (F1) soft key can be used
to run the length portion of the test sequence only, skipping the
Skew and SNR tests.
