W ith the serial number, you can access the delivery data of the
instrument via www.vega.com, "VEGA Tools" and "serial number
search". In addition to the type label outside, you can also find the
serial number on the inside of the instrument.
3.2 Principle of operation
VEGABAR 65 is a pressure transmitter for use in the chemical, food
processing and pharmaceutical industries. Depending on the version,
it is used for level, gauge, absolute pressure or vacuum measurement.
M
easured products are gases, vapours and liquids, also those with
higher temperatures.
T he METEC ® measuring cell is the measuring unit. It consists of the
ceramic-capacitive CERTEC ® measuring cell and a special, temper-
ature-compensating isolating system.
T he hydrostatic pressure of the product or the process pressure
causes a capacitance change in the measuring cell via the metal
process diaphragm and the isolating liquid. This change is converted
into a corresponding output signal.
T wo-wire electronics 4 … 20 mA/HART for power supply and
measured value transmission over the same cable.
T he supply voltage range can differ depending on the instrument
version.
T he data for power supply are specified in chapter "Technical data".
T
he background lighting of the indicating and adjustment module is
powered by the sensor. Prerequiste is a certain heigt of the operating
voltage. You can find the exact voltage specifications in chapter
"Technical data".
T he optional heating requires its own operating voltage. You can find
details in the supplementary instructions manual "Heating for indicat-
ing and adjustment module".
T his function is generally not available for approved instruments.
