Serial Port Configuration

S.M.A.R.T.

Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting
Technology (SMART) can help predict
impending drive failures. Select Auto to
allow the AMI BIOS to automatically
detect hard disk drive support. Select
Disabled to prevent the AMI BIOS from
using S.M.A.R.T. Select Enabled to allow
the AMI BIOS to use S.M.A.R.T. to
support the hard-drive disk.

Serial Port 1
Address

This feature allows the user to
specify the base I/O port address and
the Interrupt Request address for
Serial Port 1 or Serial Port 2. Select
Disabled to prevent the serial port
from accessing system resources.
When this option is set to Disabled,
the serial port will become
physically unavailable. Select 3F8/
IRQ4 to allow the serial port to use
3F8 as its I/O port address and IRQ 4
for the interrupt address.
