FANS:

The fans should be spinning CLOCKWISE when looking down on the fan. Air should be

drawn from the bottom of the chiller and discharged out through the top.

SYSTEM START:

Be sure there are no alarm faults present.

Sometimes it is necessary to fill the piping system. Therefore, pump can be enabled

manually. At the same time, it is recommended that the operation of each pump is

verified.

NOTE: When two pumps are enabled, disable any one pump will leave other operation.

In a normal operation, pumps 1 &2 are in the “ON” position and they are left to run

automatically.

The pressure relief valve is pre-set at 45 psig.

When the pressure on the water line is increased above 45 psig, this valve will open

and allow some water to bypass the external heat exchange. The adjustment of this

valve is not required when it does not meet the specification. If adjustment is required,

always set the pressure 5psi above the specified pressure. This is recommended to

overcome the pressure drop within the chiller.

REFRIGERATION SYSTEM START-UP:

At the On/Off screen, the pumps can now be turned on. All the pumps to run for one

minute prior to turning on the compressor. This is also necessary to ensure the “flow

error” alarm is not present.

NOTE: To get the most accurate start-up situation, there should be an actual load on

the chiller. If there is no load on the chiller, the discharge temperature set point should

be raised so that the refrigeration system will not get the water too cold.

See the control system for instructions to change the set point.

System 1:

Verify that pump 1 is on. Compressor 1 and compressor 2 should be off. Check the

units (C or F, psi or bar). Change the units to whatever system is required. They should

be changed before permanent settings are made, because they only change the display

of sensor values, not setpoint values. For example, if the reservoir is at 68 F, and the

setpoint is 50 F, changing the units to C will change the reservoir temperature display

to 20 C, but the setpoint will be 50 C, not 10 C.

Check the setpoints by pressing the SET button. They should match the default

settings listed in the MAINTENANCE section.
