5.3 Boot PROMs and Memory SIMMs

A number of the older CellCom/FreeSpeak units have incorrect boot PROMs and
memory SIMMs. This can cause the basestation to fail the application upgrade
process. Both the memory SIMM has been removed from later iterations of the
hardware design, so if this is not present in your basestation you will not be able (or
be required) to change the hardware parts.

Non-RoHS basestations can be identified by their Serial Number. All units before
1760 and below are non-RoHS units and will require a new boot PROM and
8Mb memory SIMM.

A Boot PROM and memory SIMM pack are listed as part of the upgrade package.
