8.1 Connection issues

Issue

Cause(s)

Solution(s)

The Concert Server
is not reachable
from my PC (the
browser does not
display the CMI)

Your firewall may be preventing
access

An incorrect hostname was entered
for the Concert Server

The Apache Server may be down for
some reason

To reach the CMI from outside the
local network where the EMS
server application is located, you
must set up port forwarding within
your firewall on port 80 to the
EMS server application.

Note:

To restrict access to the CMI in
future, ensure that you change the
default CMI password.
See 26.

Check that the Concert Server
address being entered into your
browser is correct.

The Concert Server runs an
Apache HTTP server to host the
CMI. If for some reason this
service is down, the server cannot
respond to requests from
browsers.

To check the status of the Apache
server, type the following
command in the Concert S

erver’s

terminal:

service httpd status

If the httpd service reports itself as
being stopped, even after
rebooting the system, check the
Apache logs within the following
directory, in an attempt to find a
possible reason:

/etc/httpd/logs/
