7.1 Network

Cabling

The PCLTA card is different from all other MCN modules in that it does not have
an RJ-45 connector for the network cable to plug into. Instead, the card has a
two-pin connector. An adapter cable, shown in Figure 4, must be installed to
connect the PCLTA’s two-pin connector with the MCN network cable.

The RJ-45 connector for the MCN network connection is located on the side of
the adapter block. There are two types of adapter blocks available for the MCN
system. These adapters are the ‘TP/XF 1250’ and the ‘T’ Adapter Blocks.

7.1.1

TP/XF 1250 Terminator Adapter Block
The first type of adapter block, part number S2-60605, has one RJ-45 connector,
as shown in Figure 5. The adapter block has an internal termination network for
the TP/XF 1250 network.

Note: The TP/XF 1250 adapter is only be used in MCN systems that are custom
designed by CTI Products, Inc. If your system is a standard system that was not
custom designed (a custom designed system includes network router modules),
then you will not use this adapter.
