SEQUENCE BLOCK

10.4.1 Input

Definitions

The number of inputs, their data types, and their sources are user configured for each
sequence, using the Input Definition Menu, Figure 10-4. Up to 128 inputs can be configured
in one sequence block.

Inputs are specified using the Add button. A menu appears requesting the user to Specify
Input Data
. The attributes of each input are configured as follows:

Name

The name format is alphanumeric, and is limited to eight characters.
Names are not case sensitive. Each name must be unique; it must
not duplicate either another input name or a step name.

Input names can be used in the transition expressions. Also, any input name
appears on the choose parameter list as an output to designate the output as
being directly connected to the input.

Data Type

Inputs can be sourced from other blocks or entered as internal data.
If the input comes from outside the Sequence block, no other entries
are required for this input. Source connections will appear in the
Incoming connections display. If the input is internal, Data Type and
Internal Data value are required. Select a data type from the pull-
down menu, and type the value in the Internal Data field as shown in
Figure 10-5.
