APPENDIX B ELECTRICAL HOOK-UPS

Hydraulic and electrical schematics, along with field installation drawings are shipped in
electrical control boxes.

NOTE:

The drawing applicable to your installation is circled in Table A. Suffix numbers
-1, -2, and -3 in Table A indicate electrical service: -1 is 115V, 1 phase; -2 is 208/
220V, 1phase, -3 is 208/220/460, 3phase.

B1.

NEW INSTALLATION WITH POWERAMP HORIZONTALLY STORED DOCK LEVELER.

1.

Refer to drawings in Table A.

2.

Mount control box as shown in illustration on page 5.

3.

A threaded connection is provided in the right hand side of the POWERHOLD
restraint unit next to the electrical box access cover for conduit from the control
unit. Field wires in this conduit, are as shown on the electrical schematic.

4.

In the conduit between the control unit and the box on the pit wall, field wires plus
motor wires are required to operate the restraint, as shown on the electrical
schematic.

5.

For door switch interlock, wire to terminal No. 4 and 4D and remove jumper wire.

6.

Attach field wiring as shown in installation drawings provided for your
POWERHOLD.

7.

Mount driver alert unit as shown in illustration on page 5.

8.

Run conduit with field wires between driver alert unit and control unit.

B2.

NEW INSTALLATION WITH POWERAMP VERTICALLY STORED DOCK LEVELER.

1.

Refer to drawings in Table A.

2.

Mount control box as shown in illustration on page 5.

3.

A threaded connection is provided in the right hand side of the POWERHOLD
restraint unit next to the electrical box access cover for conduit from the control
unit. Field wires in this conduit, are as shown on the electrical schematic.

4.

In the conduit between the control unit and the box on the pit wall, field wires plus
motor wires are required to operate the restraint, as shown on the electrical
schematic.

5.

RETROFIT INSTALLATION WITH EXISTING POWERAMP HORIZONTALLY STORED
DOCK LEVELER.

1.

Refer to drawings in Table A.

2.

Assure hydraulic valve assembly (part no. 8585-0010) is mounted on motor
mounting plate.

3.

A threaded connection is provided in the right hand side of the POWERHOLD
restraint unit next to the junction box access cover for conduit from the control
unit. Field wires are in this conduit.
