P

OWERHOLD AND POWERHOLD-CP OPERATION

1.

Push the power (toggle) switch to the ON position.

2.

Requirements for proper restraint operation are that the trailer be parked
perpendicular to the loading dock area with its ICC bar from 4-1/2" to 14-1/2" from the
face of the dock when 4-1/2" bumpers are used. If 6" bumpers are used, the
horizontal range would be from 6" to 16" from the face of the dock.

After the truck has backed into its

loading/unloading bay, be sure to chock the wheels.

3.

Place the key switch in "NORMAL" position.

4.

Depress "LOCK" pushbutton, this will activate the restraint causing it to move in to
position. The green light on the control unit will go on.

5.

Once step number 3 has been completed, the dock leveler will be activated. Press
the "RAISE" pushbutton until the leveler is fully up with lip extended. With the dock
leveler's lip fully extended, release the "RAISE" pushbutton, the dock leveler will
automatically lower into position on the trailer's floor.

NOTE:

The "RAISE" pushbutton circuit is only energized when the restraint is in full
contact with the ICC bar or if the restraint is bypassed.

6.

Should the truck's ICC bar be damaged or missing, you should:

a.

Make certain the trailer's wheels are securely chocked.

b.

Place the bypass key switch into the "BYPASS" position. This will bypass the
restraint allowing operation of the dock leveler. The amber light on the control

unit will be lit during bypass operation.

c.

Proceed with normal dock leveler operation, pushing the "RAISE" pushbutton to

fully raise and extend the lip and releasing the "RAISE" pushbutton to lower the
leveler to the trailer's floor.

d.

Once the loading/unloading of the truck's trailer is complete, remove the dock
leveler from the trailer and turn the key switch to the "NORMAL" position.

7.

To remove the restraint from the truck's ICC bar, the following procedure must be
followed:

a.

Depress the "RAISE" button. This will cause the dock leveler to be removed
from the truck.

b.

After completing step "a" above, depress the "UNLOCK" button. The restraint

will then be placed into its stored position.
