POWERHOLD - MS OPERATION

The following instructions are provided for use with the POWERHOLD-MS units.
This system is provided with its own power source for hydraulic operation of up to 20
POWERHOLDS.

1.

Flip the power (toggle) switch to the "ON" position.

2.

After the trailer has backed into its loading/unloading bay, be sure to chock the trailer's
wheels.

3.

Depress the "LOCK" button. The restraint will automatically raise and lock into position
and lights will change. Once completed, the dock leveler can now be put into position
on the trailer (refer to dock leveler manufacturer's instruction manual).

4.

When loading/unloading of trailer is completed, first remove dock leveler from trailer
then depress the restraint "UNLOCK" button and lastly remove the wheel chocks.

5.

Remember that with this type of system, the restraint is not interlocked to the leveler.
Always follow the operational steps listed above.

POWERAMP POWERHOLD TRUCK RESTRAINT WITH POWERAMP DOCK LEVELER

(The restraint operates off the same pump and motor assembly that operates the leveler).

Normal Operation

1.

The key switch is in the "NORMAL" mode, the external traffic warning light is green and
the internal light is red. The truck backs into the open dock, makes contact with the
dock bumpers and stops.

2.

The dock attendant presses and holds the "LOCK" pushbutton to raise the restraint
from the stored position. The external traffic warning light turns red and the internal light
turns amber immediately after the restraint leaves the stored position. When the key
switch is in the "NORMAL" mode, the (internal) amber light serves as an indication to
the dock attendant the restraint is not in the stored position and the restraint has not
engaged an ICC bar.

The restraint will raise until it makes contact with an ICC bar. Once the restraint makes
contact with the ICC bar, the bottom of the restraint moves out until it becomes perpen-
dicular to the housing. After the restraint is properly engaged (perpendicular), the
internal light turns green indicating to the dock attendant to release the pushbutton and
that it is safe to service the truck.

3.

After the restraint has properly engaged an ICC bar, the dock attendant presses and
holds the "RAISE" pushbutton to raise the leveler. When the leveler reaches the top of
its travel, the lip automatically extends.

The dock attendant releases the pushbutton and allows gravity to position the leveler on
the truck.

4.

After loading/unloading operations are completed, the dock attendant stores the leveler
in the cross-traffic position (lip in keepers).

5.

After loading/unloading operations are completed, the dock attendant presses and
holds the "UNLOCK" pushbutton to lower the restraint to the stored position. The
internal light turns amber immediately after the restraint begins to lower. After the
restraint is in the stored position, the external traffic warning light turns green and the
internal light turns red, indicating to the dock attendant to release the pushbutton.
