4.16 Toggling the Resistor Flag
When performing a timing test on a circuit breaker with an insertion resistor, it’s important to
select the correct resistance value at the time the test is performed. If this value is not entered
for some reason, the resistor contact time is not shown or is incorrectly obtained. However, this
can be corrected using the VCBA S2 software. To set the resistor value for a test record:
1. Open the test record that you would like to view.
2. Click on the Test Plan icon in the View command group in the Command Ribbon.
3. The test plan for the test record will be displayed. From the “Contact Analysis” section
of the test plan, select the correct resistor value from the “Resistor” drop down menu:
The VCBA S2 software will calculate the main contact time and the resistor contact time
based on the resistance value selected.
4. Click on the “Apply Changes” button at the bottom of the test plan screen (you may
need to scroll down the screen to see it).
5. Save the test record to store the resistor value permanently.
6. Click on the Report icon in the View command group in the Command Ribbon. The test
report will be displayed. A new section will be added to the report displaying the
resistor analysis values:
