Operation Authority

If you set the user ID and password when you register a user account, you can specify various types
of operation authorities for registered user accounts. In XP Remote Web Console, the operation
authority is also referred to as “role.” The parameters for the operation authorities that can be set for
each user account are as follows.

Account Administrator Role (user account operation authority): The account administrator role
provides the authority to operate the Account panel that can used to manage XP Remote Web
Console user accounts. All users can change their own passwords and view the details on their
own accounts. Only users in the account administrator role can change the password or settings
of another user's account. You cannot change the account administrator role settings for the default
account that has the user ID of administrator.
For each user account, you can specify the authority of the account administrator role from one
of the following three types:
• Modify: If you have this authority, you can add and delete all user accounts (except for the

user ID administrator) and change their settings. For the user account of user ID administrator,
you can change the password and the operation authority; however, you cannot change the
account administrator's role. The operation authority Modify has been set for the user account
with the user ID of administrator.

• View: If you have this authority, you can view the operation authority of all user accounts. You

cannot add, change, or delete any user accounts. However, you can change your own pass-
word.

• Disable: You cannot view or change the settings of other user accounts. However, you can

change your password and view the operation authorities for your user account.

Audit Log Administrator Role : The audit log administrator role is the authority to perform the audit-
log and the syslog-related operations. You can set the audit log administrator role for the user
account with the user type of storage administrator. For further information on audit log files, see

Downloading the Audit Log File

” on page 101. For details regarding syslog-related operations,

see

” on page 103. For each

user account, you can specify one of the following parameters for the audit log administrator:
• Modify: If you have this authority, you can download an audit log file by using the button for

audit log file download. You can also set the syslog server and download the syslog information
file by using the Syslog panel. The operation authority "Modify" has been set for the user ac-
count of user ID “administrator.”

• View: If you have this authority, you can download an audit log file by using the button for

audit log file download. You can also view the Syslog panel, but you cannot perform the op-
eration using the Syslog panel.

• Disable: You have no operation authority for the audit log. You cannot use the audit log file

download button and the Syslog panel.

the authority to perform operations involving product options and the Set Env. panel. For each
