To transfer your business tasks to the XP Continuous Access Synchronous secondary site:

1.

Use XP RAID Manager to delete the XP Continuous Access Journal pair.

2.

Use XP RAID Manager to execute the

horctakeover

command on the XP Continuous Access

Synchronous pair.

3.

Use the XP Continuous Access Synchronous secondary volume to resume your business tasks.

4.

Check the execution results of the

horctakeover

command, and do either of the following:

a.

If the XP Continuous Access Synchronous pair's primary/secondary relationship is not
reversed (that is, the copy direction is not reversed as illustrated in the upper-right portion
of

Figure 32 (page 76)

(because the primary site is no longer operational)), use XP RAID

Manager to create a new (full copy) XP Continuous Access Journal pair. The XP Continuous
Access Journal pair's primary data volume must be the XP Continuous Access Synchronous
secondary volume. The XP Continuous Access Journal pair's secondary data volume must
be the secondary data volume at the XP Continuous Access Journal secondary site.

b.

If the XP Continuous Access Synchronous pair's primary/secondary relationship is reversed
(that is, the copy direction is reversed as illustrated in the lower-right portion of

Figure 32 (page 76)

(because the primary site is no longer operational), re-create the XP

Continuous Access Journal pair deleted in step 1 via full copy. When you finish re-creating
the XP Continuous Access Journal pair, the system configuration changes from a 3DC
multi-target configuration to a 3DC cascading configuration, and the former XP Continuous
Access Synchronous secondary volume changes to the primary volume.
