Inaccurate or unexpected colors

UV inks have a limited shelf life. Expired inks may under go a color shift. Ensure that the expiration
date marked on the ink packaging has not passed. Replace any expired ink.

Shaking the ink can compensate for settling of the ink components, and gradually correct a color
shift (after several prints, depending on the amount of settling that has occurred).

Verify that you are using the color profile that matches the media, or most closely matches the
media type, you are using.

Perform a color calibration (linearization). See

Linearization on page 63

for details.

Check for missing jets. See

Check jet health on page 104

for instructions.

If the problem consists of color differences between your computer monitor and printed output,
consider calibrating your monitor according to manufacturer's instructions, and viewing prints in
natural sunlight or under full-spectrum lighting.

Ensure that all of the images and the document itself have been saved in the same color space.
Refer to your application user documentation for instructions.

Operating the printer outside the stated specifications for temperature (see

Specifications

on page 92

) can cause the printheads to fail to refill predictably, resulting in shifted colors.
