The zoom (p. 36) moves to the top of the T
(telephoto) side automatically and allows
recording subjects at close range down to the
following distances:
HDR-PJ10/XR160: About 44 cm (17 3/8 in.)
HDR-CX360/CX360V/PJ30/PJ30V/PJ50/
PJ50V: About 25 cm (9 7/8 in.)


Notes
When recording a distant subject, focusing may
be difficult and can take some time.
Adjust the focus manually ([Focus], p. 79) when
it is hard to focus automatically.
SteadyShot
You can compensate for camera shake.
Set [ SteadyShot] to [Off] ( ) when
using a tripod (sold separately), then the
image becomes natural.
 Active
Provides a more powerful SteadyShot effect.
Standard
Provides a SteadyShot effect, performing
wide-angle recording under relatively stable
recording conditions.
Off ( )
The SteadyShot function is not used.
Notes
If you change the setting of [ SteadyShot],
the imaging field will also change accordingly.
You can magnify images up to the following
levels using optical zooming, unless
[ SteadyShot] is set to [Active].






HDR-PJ10/XR160:
Up to 30 times the original size
HDR-CX360/CX360V/PJ30/PJ30V/PJ50/
PJ50V: Up to 12 times the original size
SteadyShot

PJ50V: Up to 160× zoom is performed
digitally.




The zooming zone appears when you set the
maximum zoom level.
