Changing the assignment of a function key

You can move a function key on the same page or to another/new page. You can improve the usability of the Component display by assigning a function key
you often use to the first page, or by changing the position of function keys on a page.
Furthermore, you can also move a function key to the trash can page. Move any unnecessary function keys to the trash can if you w ant to save it w ithout
deleting it completely.

1.

Click the EDIT s w itch in the ce nte r of the w indow to s w itch to the EDIT m ode .

2.

Click the page that include s the function k e y you w ant to m ove from the Page tre e vie w on the le ft.
The function keys of the selected page appear on the editor in the center of the w indow .

3.

Click the function k e y you w ant to m ove , the n drag and drop it w he re you w ant to m ove it.
The function key moves.

Note

A function key cannot be moved to a place w here another function key already exists.

Hints

The position w here the function key is assigned is automatically aligned w ith existing function keys. If you w ant to assign the function key more freely, hold
dow n the Shift key on your keyboard and drag and drop the function key.

If you select the function key and hold dow n the arrow key on your keyboard, you can move it w ith pixel accuracy.

To move a key to another/new page

1.

Click the EDIT s w itch in the ce nte r of the w indow to s w itch to the EDIT m ode .

2.

Click the page that include s the function k e y you w ant to m ove from the Page tre e vie w on the le ft.
The function keys of the selected page appear on the editor in the center of the w indow .

3.

Right-click the function k e y you w ant to m ove , the n point to "M ove to" of the m e nu and s e le ct the page to w hich you w ant to m ove
the k e y.
The function key moves to the selected page. If you select "New page" as the page to w hich you w ant to move the key, a new page is added to the
Component display, and the function key moves to that page.

Hint

You can move the function key to another page in the follow ing w ays:

Select the function key on the editor, then point to "Move to" from "Edit" of the menu bar and select the page to w hich you w ant to move the key.

Select the function key on the editor, then drag and drop it to the page in the Page tree view (of the Component display) to w hich you w ant to move the key.

Note

If there is no empty space on the page to assign the function key, you cannot move it.

To move a key to the trash can page

Note

If you move the function key to the trash can page, all the actions other than the follow ing actions are deleted.

How ever, if the function key has the Learn+ action, the setting is reset to preset (Preset action or Preset_empty action).

Right-click the function k e y you w ant to m ove , the n point to "M ove to" of the m e nu and s e le ct "Tras h."
The function key moves to the trash can page.

Hint

You can move a function key to the trash can page in the follow ing w ays:

Select the function key on the editor, then point to "Move to" from "Edit" of the menu bar and select "Trash."

Select the function key on the editor, then drag and drop it to the trash can page of the same component in the Page tree view .
