Troubleshooting (Continued)

An unknown image appears on the LCD screen or viewfinder.

• The camcorder is in [DEMO MODE] (p. 79). Touch the LCD screen to cancel [DEMO

MODE].

An unknown indicator appears on the screen.

• A warning indicator or message appears on the screen (p. 107).

The image remains on the LCD screen.

• This occurs if you disconnect the DC plug or remove the battery pack without turning off the

power first. This is not a malfunction.

The buttons do not appear on the touch panel.

• Touch the LCD screen lightly.
• Press DISP/BATT INFO on your camcorder (or DISPLAY on the Remote Commander)

(p. 33).

The buttons on the touch panel do not work correctly or do not work at all.

• Adjust the touch panel ([CALIBRATION]) (p. 120).

The image in the viewfinder is not clear.

• Move the viewfinder lens adjustment lever until the image appears clearly (p. 33).

The image in the viewfinder has disappeared.

• Close the LCD panel. No image is displayed in the viewfinder when the LCD panel is open

(p. 33).

You cannot operate functions using the “Memory Stick Duo.”

• Insert a “Memory Stick Duo” into your camcorder (p. 36).
• If you use a “Memory Stick Duo” formatted on a computer, format it again on your

camcorder (p. 66).

Images cannot be deleted.

• Release the lock on the write-protect tab of the “Memory Stick Duo” if there is one (p. 116).
• The maximum number of images that you can delete on the index screen at one time is 100.
• You cannot delete the images protected on another device. Release the protection of the

images on the device which you protected the images.
