In the event that your ARCHOS freezes or does not respond anymore, disconnect

the power adapter, wait for 15 seconds and reconnect it. When the red LED indi-

cator stops blinking, press the Power button

on the supplied remote control to

turn on your device.
ONLY use the Reset button, on the back of the device, if you need to relaunch

the Installation Wizard. When you press this button, the ARCHOS will restart and

a message will pop up to confirm the relaunch of the wizard. If you do not re-

spond within 10 seconds, the wizard will be automatically relaunched. See:

The

Installation Wizard

.

ATTENTION: if you use the reset button and relaunch the wizard, no data will

be erased but your TV connection settings will be lost, and you will have to set

them up again through the wizard.

If your ARCHOS does not respond correctly, or does not show certain songs or

videos that you have copied to it, try using the “

Repair and Formatting Tools

(see:

System Settings

).

If using the “

Repair and Formatting Tools

” does not solve your problem, you can

try a system recovery. It allows you to repair the hard drive, format it, etc.

Restart your device (disconnect the power adapter / wait for 15 seconds / recon-

nect it).
The red indicator starts blinking, and after a few seconds, it will start blinking

faster. While the red indicator is blinking faster, press the

TV

button on the re-

mote control to access the Recovery mode.

If the image does not appear, press the TV button and wait for a few seconds.

Repeat this operation until you can see the recovery screen (white back-

ground).

While you are in recovery mode, use the navigation buttons of the remote control to

move from one option to another and press OK to validate.
