If only heading-to-steer data is being received, the top right of the display shows this
heading, eg.

NAV 123

If the crosstrack error is also being received, the vessel steers to
minimise the error and the top right of the display alternates between
the heading-to-steer and the crosstrack error, eg.

XT 0.07 L

If NMEA data is not being received, the top right of the display reads:

NAV WAIT

and the vessel will continue to hold the previous reference course. It
this message does not clear within 15 seconds, consult the NMEA
installation section of Chap 3.

If a wind instrument is fitted, steering to the wind is activated by
holding down the NAV key for 2 seconds. When data is being

received, the top right display shows the relative wind angle, eg:

WV 045P

The vessel now holds a fixed relative heading to the wind, being the
one existing when the NAV or PILOT key was pressed. The relative
heading may be adjusted via the course knob or by returning to
STANDBY and hand steering the vessel to a new course. If data is
not being received, the display shows WV WAIT.

To cancel the wind vane mode, press NAV.
