3. Center Erase

Deletes the shadow that is created in the center
(binding part) of the open book.

4. Finger Masking

Deletes the image of the fingers holding the
original from the scanned image.

NOTE !

Depending on the density or the color of the original, the
“Finger Masking” function may not work properly. Turn off
“Finger Masking” if any required portion of the image has
been erased due to the finger masking function.

The finger masking function does not work properly in the
following cases. (The “finger” in the following sentences
includes the shadow of the finger.)

When a finger does not cover the left or right side of the
original.

-

When the fingers cover 10 cm (4 inch) or more from the
left and right edges of the original.

-

When a finger covers half or more of one page, even
when the distance from the edge of the original to the
finger is less than 10 cm (4 inch).

When a finger covers the bottom edge of the original.

-

When a finger covers up to 3 cm (1.18 inch) from the top
edge of the original.

-

When the original contains an image, such as a
photograph, and the distance between the image and the
finger is up to 3 cm (1.18 inch).

17. Rotation:

Rotates the scanned image.
There are four angle selections: “None”, “90 CW”, “90 CCW”, and
“180”.

18. Adjustment:

The Scanner needs adjustment at the time of setup or when the
installation place is changed. For the details of the adjusting procedure,
refer to Chapter 3, “2 Setup to the Scanner”.

19. Exit button:

Exits the image acquisition screen.
