Initial Settings

Initial settings lets you perform initial set up of different settings for Pioneer AV Head Unit
(AVH-P6400CD or AVH-P6400R).

Displaying the INITIAL SETTINGS MENU

Press SOURCE button and hold until the source off.

Press A.MENU (AUDIO) button and the OFF SOURCE MENU is displayed.

5 or to select “INITIAL SETTINGS”, and press A.MENU (AUDIO) button.

The INITIAL SETTINGS MENU is displayed as follows:
FM STEP, DAB PRIORITY, RDS AUTO PI, DETACH WARNING, AUX (AUXIL-
IARY), ILLUMINATION, REAR SPEAKER, TEL/GUIDE MUTE/ATT

You can operate a desired function. For details, refer to the pages for each of the func-
tions.
Use the following instructions to operate each particular setting.

To cancel initial settings, press BAND/ESC button.

Setting the FM tuning step

Normally the FM tuning step employed by seek tuning is 50 kHz. When AF or TA is on the
tuning step automatically changes to 100 kHz. It may be preferable to set the tuning step to 50
kHz when AF is on.

3 will switch the FM tuning step between 50 kHz and 100 kHz while AF or

TA is on.

The tuning step remains at 50 kHz during manual tuning.

Setting the DAB Priority Function

When a hide-away DAB tuner (GEX-P700DAB) is connected, you can set the Pioneer AV
Head Unit in this mode so that the interruption of traffic information from the hide-away
DAB tuner takes precedence over Pioneer AV Head Unit’s RDS traffic announcement func-
tion.

When it is on

During DAB reception, when the selected service component supports road traffic flashes and
transport flashes, reception is not interrupted by Pioneer AV Head Unit’s RDS traffic
announcement.
