Audio Adjustment

• When connected to a power amp with input level control, Auto-equalizing may not be

possible if you lower power amp input level. Set the power amp’s input level to the stan-
dard position.

• After normal completion of Auto-equalizing, fader/balance settings (refer to page 45)

return to the center position (initial settings).

• If you perform Auto-equalizing when Auto-equalizer curve already exists, the previous

curve is erased.

• If you change the rear speaker output setting or the Subwoofer output setting after you

performed Auto-equalizing, Auto-equalizer curve is erased. In this case, perform Auto-
equalizing again.

• If you perform Auto-equalizing, the equalizer curve switches to flat.
• If you perform Auto-equalizing while a Subwoofer is connected to this product, it will

be adjusted automatically either Subwoofer output and High Pass Filter output settings
or Non-Fading output level setting. (Subwoofer output or Non-Fading output is automat-
ically turned on and adjusted even if you have turned it off before.)

• After the Auto-equalizing function countdown has started, if you switch a source ON by

loading an MD or with the voice controller, source Audio Menu 1 settings change. Do
not switch a source ON after Auto-equalizing has begun.

Auto-equalizing

1. Select the position for the seat on which the microphone is placed.

(Refer to “Position Selector” on page 50.)

• When not setting for the “Front Seat Left” or “Front Seat Right”, if you start Auto-equalizing,

“Front Seat Left” is automatically selected.

2. Stop the car in a place that’s as quiet as possible, close all doors, windows,

the sun roof, and switch the engine off.

If the engine is left running, engine noise may prevent correct Auto-equalizing.

3. Fix the provided microphone in the center of the headrest of the driver’s

seat, facing forward, using the belt (sold separately).

The Auto-equalizer curve may differ depending on where you place the microphone.
If desired, place the microphone on the front passenger seat and perform Auto-equalizing.
