Operating the DSP menu

1 DSP display

Shows the DSP status.

2 SW indicator

Shows when the subwoofer output is turned
on.

% Press AUDIO to display the DSP func-
tion names.
Press

AUDIO repeatedly to switch between

the following DSP functions:
FADER (balance adjustment)

—POSI (position

selector)

—PLII (Dolby Pro Logic II)— music

mode adjust

—sound field control—Lo/Ro

(down mix)

—DRC (dynamic range control)—

DIRECT (direct)

—SLA (source level adjust-

ment)

# You can also use A.MENU button on the re-
mote control to select an audio menu.
# When the rear output setting is R-SP S/W, you
cannot adjust front/rear speaker balance. Refer to
Setting the rear output and subwoofer controller
on page 53.
# When playing discs recorded with more than
96 kHz sampling frequency, you cannot use audio
functions. Also, equalizer curve setting,

POSI,

AT EQ and TA AUTO TA will be cancelled.
# When playing discs recorded with more than
96 kHz sampling frequency, audio is outputted
from front speakers only.
# When both the center speaker and the rear
speaker are set to OFF in the speaker setting, you
cannot switch to

PLII.

# All audio functions are locked out when the di-
rect control is on except

VOLUME and PLII.

# When you select MUSIC in the PLII, you can
select adjusting music mode.
# When playing other than the DVD disc, you
cannot switch to

DRC.

# When selecting the FM as the source, you
cannot switch to

SLA.

# To return to the display of each source, press
BAND.

Note

If you do not operate the DSP function within
about 30 seconds, the display is automatically re-
turned to the source display.

Using balance adjustment

You can change the fader/balance setting so
that it can provide you an ideal listening envir-
onment in all occupied seats.

Press AUDIO to select FADER.

# If the balance setting has been previously ad-
justed,

BAL will be displayed.

Press a or b to adjust front/rear speak-

er balance.
Each press of a or b moves the front/rear
speaker balance towards the front or the rear.
FADER F25 to FADER R25 is displayed as the
front/rear speaker balance moves from front to
rear.

# FADER 0 is the proper setting when only two
speakers are used.

Press c or d to adjust left/right speaker

balance.
When you press c or d, BAL 0 is displayed.
Each press of c or d moves the left/right
speaker balance towards the left or the right.
BAL L25 to BAL R25 is displayed as the left/
right speaker balance moves from left to right.
