PRE mode (static)

If you only have one aerial con-
nected to the unit and you have
configured it in the setup menu
(see “Setting the number of aeri-
als”), the device uses one tuner to
play the tuned station while at the
same time using the second tuner
to constantly search for the best
available frequency for the tuned
station (if the RDS function is acti-
vated).

DDA digital directional antenna mode
(static)

If you have connected two aerials
to the unit and have configured
them in the setup menu (see “Set-
ting the number of aerials”), the
tuned station will be received using
both aerials in DDA radio mode.
The TwinCeiver continuously anal-
yses the signals from both aerials
and uses them to calculate a
“clean signal” in order to reduce re-
ception interference. This process
has been developed by Blaupunkt
and has a similar effect to using a
directional aerial. Reception quality
is considerably improved particular-
ly in areas suffering from reception
interference due to reflections from
buildings and mountains, etc. In ex-
ceptional cases, for instance if two
different stations are received on
the same frequency, an undesira-
ble effect will be the result. If this is
the case, you should select dynam-
ic radio mode (see “Selecting the
radio mode” immediately below).

Dynamic radio mode

There are five memory banks (DL1 -
DL5) at your disposal in dynamic radio
mode. Whilst the station that is tuned
into is being played, the second receiv-
er searches in the background for re-
ceivable stations and displays the ab-
breviated names of all receivable sta-
tions alongside the softkeys in the mem-
ory bank. The stations are continuously
updated ensuring that you always have
access to all receivable stations.
