The system does not go into Standby or Hibernate mode when
the battery is low.

possible cause:

The Power Options are not configured.

solution:

Use one of the Power Options presets.

The Infrared device doesn’t work.

possible cause:

The Infrared transceiver is blocked.

solution:

Make sure nothing is between your system’s
Infrared transceiver and the destination’s trans-
ceiver.

Note:

The Infrared transceiver operates on a “Line of
Sight”

possible cause:

Support for IrDA/AskIR/FIR types infrared
devices is disabled.

solution:

The default infrared mode (FIR) is backward
compatible in supporting IrDA/AskIR/FIR
devices. This will usually not need to be
changed, however some devices may require
specific settings. Changes may be made in the
BIOS Setup in the Advanced menu (see “I/O
Device Configuration (Advanced Menu)” on
page 5 - 12
).
