SERVICE AND OPERATION
9. Start up Device
Caution: Never operate the SilentCrusher M with the dispersion tool when the
dispersion tool is not immersed in fluid. Operating the device dry will destroy the
PTFE bearing (AA, see Chapter 0) and the rotor (BB, see Chapter 0).
Connect the power connection cable (V) to the power supply. The green control light (CC) on
the power supply (unit) (S) will light. Turn the device on with the switch (Y). The display (DD) will
light.
Be sure the vessel is filled with the sample for dispersion and that the dispersion
tool is immersed at least 25 mm in the fluid.
Press the Start-Stop key (EE) to start the dispersion process. The LED (FF) will glow green.
Set the desired dispersion speed on rotating knob (Z). The display (DD) will show the speed
(The display takes place in steps of 500).
If the dispersion tool is not in the drive unit, the speed indicator will remain at 0.0.
Caution: Due to its low power consumption, the device does not have a mains
switch. If the device is connected to the mains voltage (standby), the device con-
sumes only 6 Watts.
