levels have been reached. Because a cleaning validation is sample-specific, Metrohm cannot
recommend detailed cleaning methods for such samples.

The probe barrels can be rinsed in a cleaning
solution, then rinsed with distilled (or de-ionized)
water to prevent sample carry-over from one
sample type to the next.

This should be written into the cleaning procedure
for the instrument, if necessary.

In a process setting, the sample type does not
change, and the window is “refreshed” by the
flow of sample, therefore a cleaning procedure is
not relevant.

Always protect the Wavelength Reference (WST3Wxxx) from contamination:

1.

When using the standard, handle carefully to prevent damage.

2.

Store the Reference Standard in its protective case between uses.

3.

Avoid any introduction of dirt or contaminants onto the surfaces of the Wavelength Standard.

The quality of the instrument spectra depend upon proper Instrument Calibration using this
Wavelength Standard. The Standard has been calibrated on a Master instrument, which is calibrated
using NIST SRM-2035.

Selection of Probe Type in Vision Data Collection Method

When selecting the Data Collection Method in Vision Software, the probe type should be set as
follows: (This will be re-iterated in the section on Vision Software.)

This instrument requires use of
Vision 3.10 or higher. A Service Pack
may be required.

Select the proper Tip type in the
Data Collection Method (DCM) in
Vision.

This is the OptiProbe, and the “Tip
Type” is Transmission Pair.

Most applications will use a non-
Reference Standardized project. Note
that the Reference Standardization
box in this DCM is not checked; this
DCM was created in a Vision project
that was not Reference
Standardized.

(See section 6.0 for full information.)
