WARNING - To reduce risk of electrical shock, this appliance has a 3 wire grounded plug. This plug
will fit in a 3 prong outlet only one way. If it does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding

This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path
of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped
with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be
inserted into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local
codes and ordinances.

This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding attachment plug that looks like the plug illustrated.
Make sure that the appliance is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No adapter should be used
with this appliance.

When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

• Do not allow to be used as a toy.
Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged,

left outdoors, or exposed to water, contact your local service center for repairs.

• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or

corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Do not pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas where they or their

fumes may be present.

• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
• Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
Do not put

any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that
may reduce air flow.

• Do not leave appliance unattended. Unplug cord from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
• Do not use without motor filter in place.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• To reduce risk of electrical shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).

This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If
it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any
way.

• To prevent overheating of suction motor, this appliance has a built-in thermal protection switch. If suction

motor stops working, turn power off, unplug from wall and allow unit to completely cool.

• This appliance has no user serviceable parts.
