LUBRICATION

Pivot Points & Linkage

Lubricate all the pivot points on the drive system and lift linkage at

least once a season, or every 25 hours of operation, with light oil.

Rear Wheels

The rear wheels should be removed from the axles once a season.

Lubricate the axles and the rims well with an all-purpose grease before

reinstalling them.

Front Wheel Bearings

Grease fittings are located on each caster wheel and on the frame

above each front caster wheel. Figure 17. Lubricate these areas using

not allow debris to accumulate around any components on the mower.

Cleaning the Engine

Engine parts should be kept clean to reduce the risk of overheating

and ignition of debris. This is especially important if cutting tall grass.

Cleaning the Cutting Deck

Deck Wash System

Use the Deck Wash System to rinse grass clippings from the under­

side of the deck and to prevent the buildup of corrosive chemicals.

1. Thread the hose coupler (packaged in a bag with the Operator’s

Manual) onto the end of your garden hose. Figure 18.

To lubricate a caster wheel bearing, rotate the wheel so that the grease

fitting is in alignment with the notch in the bracket. Figure 17 - doing

this will allow room to connect the grease gun coupler onto the grease

fitting. You will not need to use the grease fitting on the opposite side

of the wheel.

Turn the water on.

Point the discharge chute away from any objects or persons.

5.

Start the mower and engage the blades (press and hold the blade

control against the handlebar grip) for a minimum of two minutes.

Do not engage the drive control.

When complete, disengage the blade control (release the blade

control) and turn the engine off.

7.

Turn the water off and detach the hose coupler from the water

port.
