ASSEMBLY

IMPORTANT: This unit is shipped with oil in the engine. After

assembly, see page 12 for fuel and oil details.

IMPORTANT: Reference to right or left side of the mower is observed

from the operating position.

The mowing deck is capable of throwing objects. Failure to operate

the mower without the discharge chute in the proper operating posi­

tion could result in serious personal injury and/or property damage.

Pivot upper handle into operating position, Figure 2. Be careful

not to bend or kink the cables when pivoting the handle.

Disconnect the spark plug wire and ground it against

TOOLS NEEDED FOR ASSEMBLY

A set of adjustable wrenches and tire gauge

REMOVING THE UNIT FROM THE CRATE

1.

Cut straps, it present, securing unit to pallet. Leave unit on pallet

during handle assembly.

2.

Remove any protective packaging and plastic tie straps.

3.

Use the deck height lever (see “Know your Mower” section) to

raise the cutting deck to its highest position.

ASSEMBLING THE HANDLE

1. Remove lower star knobs and carriage screws from lower handle.

3.

Install carriage screws and knobs removed earlier.

4.

Tighten the upper and lower star knobs and carriage screws to

secure the upper handle to the lower handle. Figure 2.

5.

After assembling the handle, to safely remove unit from pallet, first

cut off cardboard and remove screws to free the mower from the

crate.
