Taking Pictures in Flash AUTO Mode

Using Focus Lock

Use focus lock when you want to take a properly

focused shot where the subject is not in the center of
the picture.

• Set the focus as described

in step 2 "Taking Pictures in

Flash AUTO Mode"

Once your subject is in

focus, keep the shutter
button held down halfway

as you recompose the shot

with the subject to one side
of the viewfinder. Then

press the shutter button

down fully

Once you have set the focus, ensure that your

subject does not move relative to the camera. If

the distance to the subject changes, lock the

focus again.

• Use of the CF4 Custom Function setting is

^ recommended for such shots since it uses '

center-point AF to set the focus precisely.

• When you are shooting In remote control

COZE» mode, the focus remains locked for

approximately 4 minutes after you press the
shutter button halfway down, even if you

release the shutter button. This gives you time

to set the focus beforehand, compose the

shot, and then take the picture.
