M: Manual Exposure

In this mode, you set both the shutter speed and aperture as desired. To

determine the exposure, refer to the exposure level indicator in the

viewfinder or use a commercially-available exposure meter. This

method is called manual exposure.

Set the shooting mode to <M>.

• Press the <MODE> button and turn

the

<iS/0>

dial to select

<M>.

Set the shutter speed and
aperture.

• To set the shutter speed, turn the < ¿Si >

dial while looking at the top LCD panel.

• To set the aperture, set the power

switch to

< J>

and turn the

<0>

dial

while looking at the top LCD panel.

• You can also set it by pressing the <12 >

button, then turning the

<iSl/

0

>

dial.

Focus the subject.

• Press the shutter button halfway.

► The exposure setting will be displayed.

• On the right of the viewfinder, the

exposure level indicator <■> indicates

the current exposure level relative to
the standard exposure index <»>.

Set the exposure.

• Check the exposure level and set the

desired shutter speed and aperture.

Take the picture.

the image may still look bright even if a darker exposure
