12.3 Signal tones
The appliance will emit the following signal tones as acoustic feedback:
• One signal tone: The appliance has accepted the entry
• Two signal tones: Either you are requested to turn the cooking goods or, when
preheating, to place the cooking goods into the oven.
• Five signal tones: End of the cooking time.
• No signal tone: The appliance has not accepted the entry, check and try again.

12.4 Safety equipment
12.4.1 Warning notices on device
ATTENTION
Danger due to hot surface!
There is a warning notice referring to dangers due to hot surfaces located on the back
upper side of the housing. The surfaces of the device can become extremely hot.
► Do not touch the hot surfaces of the device. Danger of burns!
► Do not set or lay any items on the device.
► Do not place the microwave appliance above a cooker, hob or another devices
producing heat, as this would damage the microwave appliance and render the
warranty void.
12.4.2 Door latch
A safety switch is installed in the door latch of the device, which prevents the device from
being operated when the door is open.
ATTENTION
Danger due to microwaves!
If this safety device is defective or if this safety device is bypassed, you can directly
expose yourself and others to microwave radiation.
► Do not operate the device if the safety switch is defective.
► Do not disable this safety device.
12.4.3 Child-proof lock
The child-proof lock prevents children from using the device without supervision.
 Activating the child-proof lock:
Press the STOP/CLEAR button for three seconds until a signal tone is heard
and the function display lights up. In the locked state, all the buttons
are disabled.
