5.5 Troubleshooting

DO NOT lubricate machine with petroleum based, vegetable based or animal fat based products.

Problem

Solution

No power.

Check to make sure machine is plugged in.

Check that the power source is working.

Inspect the power cord for cuts or damage.

Contact your local service agent.

Index control knob won’t open.

Check that the carriage tray knob is tightened (hand tight only) in
place.

Bring carriage tray to the front/home position and tighten.

Check that the index cam on the bottom side of the base has been
lubricated.

Contact your local service agent.

Carriage tray won’t open for cleaning.

Bring carriage to the front/home position and loosen the tray knob.

Close the index control knob before loosening the carriage tray knob.

Contact your local service agent.

Carriage tray won’t slide.

Check that the carriage tray knob is tightly (hand tight only) closed.

Check that the underside round slide rail has been lubricated.

Check for obstructions under the slicer preventing movement.

Slicer has rocking movement.

Check that all four feet are in place and tight.

Check for obstructions under the feet.

Sharpener stone spindles won’t turn.

Wash complete sharpener assembly.

If submerged in water, allow to air dry before using.

Lubricate sharpener stone spindles.

Replace stone spindles.

Uneven slices or poor yield in shaving. Too
much scrap.

Sharpen the knife with the sharpener provided.

The wheels of the sharpener are defective.

The wheel spindles are not turning or require lubrication.

Contact your local service agent.
