Telephone Mode
When your machine is set to this mode, your machine wiii not receive documents automaticaiiy. If you receive
a fax cail, follow the procedure below to receive documents manuaiiy.
Setting the Telephone Mode
Change Fax Parameter No, 15 (iN MODE) to 1 : Tel. (see page 33) 1

Operation of Telephone Mode
When your telephone rings, lift the handset of the External Telephone. 1

¡If you hear a beep from the phone, it means someone wants to send a fax. Or, if the calie?
I answers and says he/she wants to send a fax, then...

Remove the document from ADF, if any.

4 Hang up the phone.
Hf you answered the call on an |
extension phone, ^
within 1 second on the
telephone, (see Note)
Your machine will be activated
remotely.

^ Note; 1. If your machine does not have the handset, follow the step 3b.
2. This procedure is called "REMOTE RCV" and will only wod< on a touch tone phone. If your extension
phone is not a touch tone phone, press I START 1 on the control panel of your fax machine.
