CARE AND CLEANING

A WARNING

Explosion Hazard

Use non-flam m able cleaner. Failure to do so can

result in death, explosion, or fire.

Both the refrigerator and freezer sections defrost

autom atically. However, clean both sections about

once a m onth to prevent odors. W ipe up spills

im m ediately.

INSIDE WALLS (allow freezer to warm up so

the cloth will not stick)

To help rem ove odors, you can wash the inside of

the refrigerator with a m ixture of baking soda and

warm water. M ix 2 tablespoons baking soda to 1

quart of water (26 g soda to 1 liter water.) Be sure

the baking soda is com pletely dissolved so it does

not scratch the surfaces of the refrigerator.

W hile cleaning the inside, do not spray

water.

DOOR LINERS AND GASKETS

Do not use cleaning waxes, concentrated

detergents, bleaches, or cleaners containing

petroleum on plastic refrigerator parts.

GENERAL CLEANING TIPS

• Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power.

• Rem ove all rem ovable parts, such as shelves,

crispers, etc. Refer to sections in USING YO UR

REFRIG ERATO R for rem oval instructions.

• Use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a m ild

detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or

harsh cleaners.

• Hand wash, rinse and dry all surfaces thoroughly.

• Plug in refrigerator or reconnect power.

PLASTIC PARTS (covers and panels)

Do not use window sprays, abrasive cleansers, or

flam m able fluids. These can scratch or dam age the

m aterial.

CONDENSER COILS

Use a vacuum cleaner with

an attachm ent to clean the

condenser cover and vents.

OUTSIDE

W axing external painted m etal surfaces helps

provide rust protection. Do not wax plastic parts.

W ax painted m etal surfaces at least twice a year

using appliance wax (or auto paste wax). Apply wax

with a clean, soft cloth.

For products with a stainless steel exterior, use a

clean sponge or soft cloth and a m ild detergent in

warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners.

Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
