Freezing, storing food, making ice cubes

The following products are NOT suitable
for wrapping/packing food:
Wrapping paper, greaseproof paper,
cellophane, refuse bags and used shopping

bags.

Wrap up the food. Press out all the air and
seal the wrapping.

The following products are suitable for
sealing the wrapped food:

Rubber bands, plastic clips, string, cold-
resistant adhesive tape or similar. Bags and
polyethylene blown film can be sealed with a

film sealer.

Before placing the food in the freezer

compartment, label and date the wrapped

food.

Freezing capacity

Food should be frozen right through to the

centre as quickly as possible. This is the
only way to preserve the vitamins, nutritional
value, appearance and flavour. Do not,
therefore, exceed the max. freezing capacity
of your appliance.

If freezing food in the frezeer drawers, the

max. freezing capacity is reduced slightly.
Use the lowest tray only to store frozen

food.

(The freezing capacity is 4-8 kg depending
on the appliance model.

appliance is indicated on the rating plate,

• To ensuri good air circulation in the

appliance, push in the freezer drawers all

the way.

If large quantities of food are be stored in

the freezer, all the freezer drawers

(except the bottom one) can be taken out
of the appliance and the food taken out

a freezer drawer, pull out all the way, lift
at the front and remove.

Fast freezing

The illuminated button indicates that fast
freezing is on. Fast freezing is used for
freezing large quantities of fresh food

and, depending on the quantity, should

be switched on up to 24 hours before

the fresh food is placed in the freezer

compartment. As a rule, 2-3 hours are
sufficient; if the max. freezing capacity is

used, 24 hours are required. During fast

freezing the freezer compartment is

cooled as cold as possible. A very low

temperature is reached. Fast freezing

automatically switches off approx. 50

hours after it was switched on.

Smaller quantities of food (up to 1 kg) can

be frozen without fast freezing.

Note
During fast freezing the refrigerator

compartment also becomes colder.

Making ice

Warning

Do NOT use an electric ice-cream maker in

the freezer compartment.

Making ice cubes
Ice-cube trays are avaible from specialist

outlets.

Fill ice-cube tray 3/4 full of water and place
in the freezer compartment. To loosen the
ice cu bes, hold ice-cube tray under running

water or twist it slightly.

storage duration

To prevent the quality of the frozen food
from deteriorating, it is important that the
storage duration is NOT exceeded.
The storage duration depends on the type of
food.
