Using snapshots

StoryMillʼs snapshots window (shown at right) is both easy
to use and extremely powerful.

When launched, your snapshots window will display a
list pane of all the items in your project which have
snapshots.

Select an item from that list, and use the drop-down
snapshot menu to choose a snapshot from the itemʼs
snapshot history. You can easily locate particular
snapshots in the menu, as they will be identified not
only by the names you gave them, but also the time
and date you created them.

Clicking on the gear button to the right of the drop-
down will enable you to rename an itemʼs snapshot,
delete it, or make it your current text, essentially
reverting your edits back to the snapshotʼs version.

Choosing an item from the list pane and a snapshot from
its history will populate the comparison panes below.
These vertically split comparison panes allow you easy
navigation between your snapshot and your edited text.
The left pane will display the selected snapshot of your
text, while the right pane will provide the text in its current
form. As you edit your text in the right pane, it will update in
real time in the project window or the item editing window.

When you are finished editing your text or managing your
snapshots, close the window using the standard close button in the
upper left corner.
