PROBABLE CAUSE

CORRECTION

Engine will not start

Ignition key into the “STOP" position

Rotate ignition key into the “S” position

Spark plug wire disconnected

Connect spark plug wire to spark plug

Fuel tank empty

Fillfueltank

Fouled spark plug

Service or replace spark plug

Throttle in “IDLE” position

Move the throttle into the “■*»” position

Engine not primed enough

Push the primer button several more times

Engine primed too much

Rotate the choke knob to the “NO CHOKE”

position; position the throttle in the “IDLE”
position. Pull the recoil starter several
times to burn off excess fuel. Proceed with
normal starting

Fuel shut-off valve closed

Open fuel shut-off valve

Carburetor/fuel line clogged

See your local engine dealer

Engine is difficult to start

Incorrect choke knob setting

Reposition choke knob

Throttle in the incorrect position

Move the throttle into the position

Fuel shut-off valve closed

Open fuel shut-off valve

Engine not primed enough

Push the primer button several more times

Stale fuel in fuel tank

Drain the fuel tank and fill with fresh
gasoline

Engine runs rough

Loose spark plug

Tighten spark plug

Fouled spark plug

Service or replace spark plug

If the engine is warm, the choke knob
should be in the “NO CHOKE” position
