Hold throttle lever closed or move carburetor

control to IDLE or SLOW position and adjust
idle adjusting needle until engine runs smoothly
proceeding in step six (6) above.

Allow several seconds between each adjustment

when performing either step six (6) or seven (7)
to allow engine to react to new setting.

VALVE ADJUSTMENT

The Cam Plate needs adjusting when:

1. The ram does not make a complete cycle in less

than 30 seconds.*

2. The ram returns slowly.*

3. The Power Stroke is too slow.*

* Engine must be running at full speed.

To adjust, loosen the two nuts and bolts holding the

Cam Plate to the Valve, raise it up and tighten the

nuts and bolts. Test the operation of the Log Splitter.

It should cycle in less than 30 seconds. (See figure 20)

To verify the proper adjustment, check the travel
distance of the spool from the cast iron housing.
