1 Introduction
The Switch Manager is used to manage the switch blade. It can run independently of the switch
blade. The typical topology structure is as follows：
Ethernet
Blade Server Controller
Switch Manager
API Library
runs on client Switch Manager
core service runs on
blade server with
switch chip
The Switch Manager provides two modes for users to configure the switch blade: View Mode and
Configure Mode. Users have limited privileges in View Mode and can only read system
information and version. They don’t have privileges to configure the system. Users have higher
privileges in Configure Mode than View Mode and not only have reading rights but also writing
privileges. They can configure VLAN, TRUNK, ACL and other functions in Configure Mode to
meet their requirements.
