Create Volume

Enter a unique volume name that has no special characters and is

16 characters or less.

[ ]Change [TAB]-Next [ESC]-Previous Menu [ENTER]-Select

- Name:

Modify array name if needed.

- RAID Level:

Select RAID level. Refer to overview below for available options.

- Disks:

Select the drives you wish to include in the RAID volume.

- Strip Size:

Can be modified for some RAID levels. Low stripe size is preferred for system drives and database.

High stripe size is preferred for File Servers.

- Capacity:

Will be set to max available by default. For some setups you may want to only use parts of the drive to

increase performance (HDD) and reduce rebuild time.

- Sync:

Recovery option only. Refer to overview below for available options.

Select

Create Volume when everything is set.

Warning: All existing data on selected drives will be lost!

Your new RAID volume is now ready for use.

You will need to reinstall operating system or load image with RAID support.

PS: Microsoft® Windows® 7 systems set up in IDE/AHCI mode can be transferred to RAID by resetting values in

registry before saving the image, see details on next page.
