Directions for Use

28. Can I attach the tube to the tube holder prior to needle puncture?

Yes, once selected, tubes can be either directly attached to the needle with tube holder, or placed
in the tube tray. You can attach the specimen tube to the needle prior to insertion and then insert
the needle with specimen tube as a unit.

29. There is too much clicking and mouse interaction required to fi ll the speci-

men tubes, is there any way to minimize this?

Yes, if the instructor selects "Automatic Tube Attachment" and "Automatic Tube Mixing" from the
confi guration menu, then all empty specimen tubes in the tube tray will automatically attach to the
tube holder starting from the left-most specimen tube.

30. I do not understand when to use the haptic device, is there any way to know

how and when to interact with the device?

Yes, the icon in the top right of the simulation screen will tell you exactly when, and how to
interact with the haptic device. Interaction with the haptic device when this icon is not displaying
a representative action (needle insertion, palpation/pressure application or tube attachment) will
cause inconsistencies.
