(Trunk): Press the button with the opened trunk

symbol to release the trunk lid.

The trunk button on the key will not work if you are
travelling over 12 mph (20 km/h).

Battery

Under normal use, the battery in your key should last
about five years.

You can tell the battery is weak if the key won’t work at
the normal range in any location. If you have to get
close to your vehicle before the key works, it is probably
time for a new battery. See your dealer.

The key buttons will not work if the battery inside the
key is flat. Try turning the key in the ignition to ON, then
off again and remove it. Try pressing LOCK on the
key again. If it still does not work a replacement key may
be needed from your vehicle dealer.

Doors and Locks

Door Locks

{

CAUTION:

Unlocked doors can be dangerous.

Passengers — especially children — can
easily open the doors and fall out of a
moving vehicle. When a door is locked, the
handle will not open it. You increase the
chance of being thrown out of the vehicle
in a crash if the doors are not locked. So,
wear safety belts properly and lock the
doors whenever you drive.

Young children who get into unlocked
vehicles may be unable to get out. A child
can be overcome by extreme heat and can
suffer permanent injuries or even death
from heat stroke. Always lock your vehicle
whenever you leave it.

Outsiders can easily enter through an
unlocked door when you slow down or
stop your vehicle. Locking your doors can
help prevent this from happening.
