Zipper Application
Machine setting
q Stitch pattern: A

Attaching the zipper foot
A: To sew the left side of the zipper, attach zipper foot
with the right side pin.
B: To sew the right side of zipper, attach the zipper foot
with the left side pin.

Attach zipper foot with the right side pin.
z Fold under back seam allowance of garment.
Pin or baste zipper tape to under side of seam
allowance. Guide the edge of the zipper foot along
the zipper teeth and stitch through the garment and
zipper tape. See illustration.
Raise and release presser foot, and reattach it with the
left side pin.
x Close zipper and pin folded edge of front seam
allowance along the first stitching.
Start to sew just below zipper bottom stop, stitching
across fabric about 3/8” (1cm).
Turn fabric 90 degrees and sew up the length of the
zipper tape.
Before reaching the slider, stop machine with needle
in fabric and raise the foot.
Move the zipper slider down a few inches to clear a
path for stitching.
At the end of the seam, sew a few stitches in reverse
to lock the stitching.
