9.2 Cordless flash mode
9.2.1 Remote slave flash mode (
)
The flash unit supports Pentax is wireless P-TTL Remote System in slave flash
mode. At the same time, one or more slave flash units can be remotely control-
led from one master or controller flash unit on the camera (e.g. mecablitz 58
AF-1P digital).
So that multiple remote systems in the same room do not interfere with one
another, there are four independent remote channels available (CH 1, 2, 3 or
4). Master, controller and slave flash units belonging to the same remote system
must be set to the same remote channel. The slave flash units must be able to
receive the light from the master or controller flash unit with the integrated sen-
sors for the remote mode

Depending on the camera model, the camera’s internal flash unit can
also function as master or controller flash unit. Please consult the respec-
tive camera operating instructions for further tips on setting the master
or controller flash unit.
Setting procedure for remote slave flash mode
• Press the button combination „Select“ until
„
“ flashes in the display.
• Apply the setting desired with the buttons
+ and —.
– When „On“ is displayed,
the remote slave mode is activated.
– When „OFF“ is displayed,
the remote slave mode is deactivated.
The setting takes effect immediately.
After about 5 seconds the display stops flashing and the setting is saved auto-
matically. After activation of the remote slave mode, „
“ appears in the
display. In addition, the remote channel is shown (CH).

Setting of the remote channel
The same remote channel must be set on the slave flash unit as on the
master or controller flash unit!
• With the remote slave mode activated,
press the button combination „Select“ until
„CH“ (= remote channel) flashes in the display.
• Apply the setting desired with the buttons + and —.
Selection of group 1, 2, 3 or 4 is possible.
The setting takes effect immediately.

matically. After activation of the remote slave mode, „

Use flash unit mounting foot S60 (optional accessories, see 17) to set up the
slave flash unit. When the slave flash unit is flash-ready, the AF measuring flash
also flashes
