APPENDIX 4: INSTALLATION AND USE OF THE OPTIONAL BLOWER AND

THERMODISC

A blower (AC01000) may be secured to the back of the stove. The blower increases the flow of air
past heat exchange surfaces and helps circulate warm air in the room. When used regularly, the
blower can provide a small increase in efficiency, up to 2 percent. However, the use of a blower
should not be used as a way to gain more output from a stove that is undersized for the space it is
intended to heat.

You can also install, on your appliance, a thermodisc #AC05530 (basic model included with the
blower), to enable the blower to start or stop automatically when the stove is hot or too cold. It is
possible to install the quick connect thermodisc instead #AC02055, sold separately.

Characteristics of the thermodisc:

Starts the blower when the stove’s temperature reaches 43 °C (110 °F)

Cuts the electrical contact when the temperature falls to 32 °C (90 °F).

Installation:

1.

Insert the eyelet of the ground wire (A) in one of the provided screws.

2.

Fix the back of the thermodisc case to the back of the stove with two screws. The eyelet of the
ground wire must be wedged between a screw and the interior of the back of the thermodisc
case.
