Still Store Menus

The

Grab Key

button permits grabbing only the key portion of an image. This

button is active only after a Video and Key grab has been performed.

Grab Key

can be used if the video and key are supplied from separate

sources or are laid down sequentially on a graphics reel. The key image to
be grabbed cannot be previewed using the Still Store (do not press the

Show Input

button, as this discards the currently grabbed material). You can

use a separate monitor to view the graphics reel to cue to the key image (see

Step 7

on

page 429

).

Note

The Grab buttons are intended for quick capture of full screen stills. To
capture a smaller area, set up a single frame fenced record (see

page 285

).

The

Save

button opens a dialog box used to save the current item to disk

(

Figure 199

). The item will be saved to the currently selected folder (see

Folder Browser and Still Store File Ops Menu

on page 278

).

Figure 199. Save Dialog Box

Three save options are available:

Enter absolute Clip ID

– Entering a number will save the item to the speci-

fied location, overwriting any item that may be present at that location.

Enter ID Zero

– Entering zero (0) makes the system save the time to the

lowest number available storage location.

Press (Enter)

– Pressing Enter saves the item to the same item storage

location, overwriting the item currently saved to that location.

The progress of the save is reported in the upper right notification area. See

Approximate Animation Clip Load and Save Times

for

related information about saving clips.
